The R&D Specialist will be responsible for product development for our new restaurant chain. You will work with our food consultants and R&D Manager in growing our food product line.


JOB DUTIES include but are not limited to the following:


  • Innovate food based on trend and nutrition
  • Develop new products in our menu in the following: sandwiches, soups, breads, and desserts
  • Recommend modifications as needed to current existing products
  • Test and evaluate products for quality and other measurements needed for the business
  • Visit corporate and franchise stores to support and educate menu
  • Identify any quality problems and recommend changes in quality standard where necessary
  • Working with consultants on innovating new potential products for the brand. Testing new recipes in the test kitchens

Basic Qualifications



  • Certification or degree from a culinary institution
  • Experience working in Research and Development in the food industry
  • Creative culinary insight in bakery products: breads, cakes, pastries, soups and salads
  • Experience of costing out recipes and forecasting food costs
  • 5+ years combined experience with food or ingredients and manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP preferred.
  • Basic understanding of food production fundamentals





  • Basic Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management level.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and demands working with minimum supervision.
  • Detail oriented, excellent record keeping and documentation skills.
